Another Woodland Wonder To Grow!

The last post showcased Β the beautiful woodland phlox, Phlox divaricata, blooming now in gardens throughout the area. On a walk through the garden to show examples of companion plants for the phlox, I spotted the woodland groundcover, Asarum splendens, Asian ginger. Its large, mottled leaves stay evergreen, and in woodland soil it will spread, creating pretty swathes of gray/green patterns…
